1. What this module does

The module tells customers how long they have to order for the parcel to leave today: "Order within 2 h 15 min and we ship today". Once the cut-off has passed, or on a day without dispatch, it shows when the next parcel leaves: "Order now and we ship tomorrow", "… on Monday". The message appears on the product page next to the add-to-cart button and, if you wish, in the cart.

Works with PrestaShop 1.7.8, 8.x and 9.x (PHP 7.2.5 or newer), with the Classic and Hummingbird themes and with multistore.

2. Installation

  1. Download the module from My account → Order history at addonspresta.com.
  2. In your Back Office, open Modules → Module Manager and click Upload a module.
  3. Drop the ap_dispatchcountdown_v1.0.1.zip file and wait for the confirmation.
  4. Click Configure on the module card.

After installation the countdown already works with Monday to Friday at 14:00 as cut-off times. Check them against your real dispatch hours before you tell customers anything.

3. How it works

Every time a page is displayed, the module looks at the current time in the shop time zone (set in International → Localization):

  • if today is a dispatch day and the cut-off has not passed yet, it shows the message before the cut-off with the time left, for example "2 h 15 min" or "45 min" in the last hour;
  • otherwise it looks for the next dispatch day within 30 days and shows the message after the cut-off with "tomorrow", the weekday ("on Monday") or, a week or more ahead, the date. Without any dispatch day in the next 30 days nothing is shown.

A dispatch day is a day of the week with a cut-off time that is not on your days-off list. While the page stays open, the time left goes down every 30 seconds, and at the cut-off the message switches to the next dispatch day without reloading the page.

The countdown is not shown for virtual products, for products that are not available for order, for a combination that is out of stock, for products in an excluded category and when the shop is in catalog mode. Out of stock means a quantity of 0 or less when stock management is on (Shop Parameters → Product Settings); with stock management off every product counts as in stock. When the customer picks another combination, the countdown is updated together with the rest of the product page.

In the cart the countdown appears when the cart holds at least one physical product and none of the products is in an excluded category or has less stock than the quantity ordered. It is checked again after every change in the cart.

The module only informs customers — it does not change orders, carriers or delivery dates. It does not change PrestaShop tables and does not connect to addonspresta.com or any other server.

4. Features and settings

Open Modules → Module Manager → Same-Day Dispatch Countdown → Configure. The Help box at the top links to this manual and to the module page at addonspresta.com, in the language of your Back Office.

Dispatch schedule

The box above the fields shows the shop time zone and the current shop time, so you can check that the times below mean what you expect.

  • Monday … Sunday — the cut-off time of each day in the HH:MM format on a 24-hour clock, for example 14:00 or 9:30. Orders placed before it leave the same day. Leave a day empty when nothing ships that day.
  • Days off — holidays and closing days, one date per line in the YYYY-MM-DD format, for example 2026-12-25. Nothing ships on those days, even if they have a cut-off time. A line that is not a valid date is rejected with an error that shows it, and nothing is saved until you correct it. Past dates may stay on the list; they no longer matter.

Display

  • Show on the product page — the countdown under the add-to-cart button (on by default).
  • Show in the cart — the countdown under the products on the cart page (off by default).
  • Excluded categories — products that belong to any ticked category never show the countdown, for example made-to-order goods. Subcategories are not excluded automatically: tick them too.
  • Message before the cut-off — for example "Order within {time} and we ship today". {time} becomes the time left in bold.
  • Message after the cut-off — for example "Order now and we ship {day}". {day} becomes "tomorrow", "on Monday" or a date, in bold.

Both messages can be written for each language of the shop. The text in the default language is required; other languages fall back to it when left empty.

The page warns you when the countdown cannot appear anywhere: when no day has a cut-off time, or when both display options are off.

5. Multistore

Settings are saved for the shop or shop group selected in the Back Office header. Select All shops to use the same schedule everywhere, or a single shop to give it its own cut-off times, days off and messages, for example for a second warehouse. In the All shops or group context only an employee who manages every shop of it can save. One licence covers every shop of the installation.

6. Uninstall

Module Manager → Same-Day Dispatch Countdown → Uninstall removes the module's settings and messages. To keep them, use Disable instead.

7. FAQ and troubleshooting

The countdown does not appear on a product. Check that the product is physical, available for order and in stock, that it is not in an excluded category, that at least one day has a cut-off time and that the catalog mode is off. Then clear the cache in Advanced Parameters → Performance.

The time is off by one or more hours. The module follows the shop time zone in International → Localization. Set your real time zone there; the configuration page of the module shows the current shop time.

The time left does not change when I reload the page. A page cache (a caching module or a reverse proxy) is serving a stored copy of the product page. Exclude the product page from that cache or shorten its lifetime.

Can I say "dispatched" instead of "we ship", or change "2 h 15 min"? Edit the two messages in the module configuration. The time and day phrases ("2 h 15 min", "on Monday") can be reworded in International → Translations → Installed module translations.

Can I change how the countdown looks? Yes. Copy views/templates/hook/countdown.tpl to themes/<your-theme>/modules/ap_dispatchcountdown/views/templates/hook/ and edit the copy, or add CSS for the .ap-dispatchcountdown classes to your theme.

8. Updates and support

Updates are free for life: download new versions from My account → Order history at addonspresta.com and upload them like a new module. Your settings are kept.

Support is included for 12 months from your order: write to mail@addonspresta.com or use the contact form at addonspresta.com (Monday to Friday, 10:00–16:00 CET; we usually answer within 2 business days). Please include your PrestaShop version, the module version and the steps that lead to the problem.
