1. What this module does
The module shows customers how much they still need to spend to get free delivery: "Add 23.50 more to get free delivery." with a progress bar. When the cart reaches the threshold, the message changes to "Your order qualifies for free delivery." The bar appears in the cart and in the order summary and updates as soon as the cart changes.
Works with PrestaShop 1.7.8, 8.x and 9.x (PHP 7.2.5 or newer), with the Classic and Hummingbird themes and with multistore.
2. Installation
- Download the module from My account → Order history at addonspresta.com.
- In your Back Office, open Modules → Module Manager and click Upload a module.
- Drop the
ap_freeshippingbar_v1.0.1.zipfile and wait for the confirmation. - Click Configure on the module card.
3. How it works
The module compares the cart with the threshold exactly the way PrestaShop decides about free shipping: the total of the products with taxes and discounts, without shipping. A cart rule that gives free shipping also counts as reached. The bar does not appear for carts with only virtual products, in catalog mode, or when there is no threshold.
The module only shows the information — it does not change shipping prices. Free shipping itself comes from your shipping settings. The module does not change PrestaShop tables and does not connect to addonspresta.com or any other server.
4. Features and settings
Open Modules → Module Manager → Free Shipping Progress Bar → Configure. The Help box at the top links to this manual and to the module page at addonspresta.com, in the language of your Back Office.
Threshold
- From Shipping > Preferences — uses the "Free shipping starts at" amount of PrestaShop. The label shows the current value. If it is not set, the bar stays hidden.
- My own amount — use it when free delivery comes from carrier price ranges or cart rules. Make sure the amount matches what your shipping really charges, otherwise the bar promises something the cart does not give.
Own amount
The threshold in the default currency, with taxes. Customers who pay in another currency see it converted.
Show in the cart / Show in the order summary
Where the bar appears: under the products on the cart page and at the top of the summary during checkout.
Show when the cart is empty
Before anything is added, the bar shows only the threshold: "Free delivery on orders over 200.00."
Bar colour
A hex colour such as #24b9d7. Leave it empty to use the main colour of your theme.
Messages
Three texts for each language: below the threshold, when free delivery is reached and for an empty cart. In the
texts, {amount} is replaced with what is still missing and {threshold} with the threshold; both appear in bold.
The text in the default language is required; other languages fall back to it when left empty.
5. Multistore
Settings are saved for the shop or shop group selected in the Back Office header. Select All shops to set the same values everywhere, or a single shop to give it its own threshold and messages. In the All shops or group context only an employee who manages every shop of it can save. One licence covers every shop of the installation.
6. Uninstall
Module Manager → Free Shipping Progress Bar → Uninstall removes the module's settings and messages. To keep them, use Disable instead.
7. FAQ and troubleshooting
The bar does not appear. Check that a threshold is set (in Shipping → Preferences or as your own amount), that the cart contains a physical product and that the catalog mode is off. Then clear the cache in Advanced Parameters → Performance.
The bar says free delivery, but the cart still charges shipping. The threshold of the module differs from your shipping settings. Choose From Shipping > Preferences or set your own amount to the value at which your carriers really become free.
A text is still in English in my Polish or French shop. Fill in the messages for that language in the module configuration.
Can I change how the bar looks?
Yes. Copy views/templates/hook/bar-content.tpl to themes/<your-theme>/modules/ap_freeshippingbar/views/templates/hook/
and edit the copy, or add CSS for the .ap-freeshippingbar classes to your theme.
8. Updates and support
