1. What this module does
The module gives your shop one page with all your deals: every product a customer can buy at a reduced price, with the biggest discounts at the top, under a banner with the name of your sale and a countdown. Before the sale the page counts down to the start and invites customers to add the date to their calendar; during the sale it counts down to the end; afterwards it thanks them and waits for the next sale under the same address.
A banner on the home page and a link in the header lead customers to the page during the sale and a few days before.
The discounts are the ones you already set in PrestaShop, so the page is always up to date: change a price, end a promotion, and the page follows. The event name is yours too — Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas sale or summer sale — and without dates the page simply lists your current deals all year round.
Works with PrestaShop 1.7.8, 8.x and 9.x (PHP 7.2.5 or newer), with the Classic and Hummingbird themes and with multistore.
2. Installation
- Download the module from My account → Order history at addonspresta.com.
- In your Back Office, open Modules → Module Manager and click Upload a module.
- Drop the
ap_blackfriday_v1.0.1.zipfile and wait for the confirmation. - Click Configure on the module card.
Right after installation the deals page is online at /black-friday in every language of the shop (for example
yourshop.com/pl/black-friday), without dates, with your current discounts.
3. How it works
Create the discounts in PrestaShop. The quickest way for a sale on the whole shop is a catalog price rule: open Catalog → Discounts → Catalog price rules, click Add new catalog price rule, enter a name, the reduction (for example 20 %), the dates "From" and "To" of your sale, and save. You can add conditions (a category, a brand) to discount only part of the catalog, or set a specific price on single products in Catalog → Products, on the product's Pricing tab. Every reduction with an old price crossed out appears on the deals page.
Set the dates of the event in the module. They control what the page and the banners show:
- Before the start — the banner counts down to the start ("Starts in 3 d 04:12:09") with your text and an Add to calendar button; the page shows no products, or your current discounts if you choose so.
- During the event — the banner counts down to the end and the page lists the deals.
- After the end — the page shows your closing text (or still the current discounts if you choose so); the home banner and the header link disappear.
When a countdown reaches zero while a customer is on the page, the page reloads by itself (within a few seconds) and shows the next state. On the home page, the banner switches from "Starts in" to "Ends in" without reloading. Dates are entered in the shop time zone (International → Localization).
Which products are listed. The page shows each product the way the customer sees it — their customer group, country, currency and tax display — so a discount reserved for registered customers is listed only for them. A product is listed when it is active, visible in the catalog, shows its price and sits in a category the customer may see, and when its default combination is reduced for one unit. Quantity discounts (from 2 units) and reductions on another combination only are not listed, because the product would show no old price in the list; prices reserved for one single customer are not listed either.
To stay fast on a busy day, the module computes the list once for each kind of visitor (customer group, country, currency, language) and keeps it for up to 3 minutes. A price you change therefore appears on the page within 3 minutes — at once if you clear the cache in Advanced Parameters → Performance or save the module settings. The page compares at most 5000 discounted products.
The page looks like a category of your theme: the same product boxes, discount labels, sort list and pages. The products are sorted by the biggest discount first; customers can also sort by "Ending soon", by price and by name.
The module does not create or change prices, does not change PrestaShop tables and does not connect to addonspresta.com or any other server.
4. Features and settings
Open Modules → Module Manager → Black Friday Deals Page → Configure. The Help box at the top links to this manual and to the module page at addonspresta.com, in the language of your Back Office.
Status
The box above the settings tells you the state of the event (always on, before the event, live or ended, with the time left) and how many products a customer who is not logged in sees on the page right now, with the biggest discount. It warns you when the page is empty during the event, when prices are hidden in your shop and when the event is over. Use View the deals page to open it in a new tab.
Event
- Event name — the title of the banner and of the header link, for example "Black Friday". Required in the default language.
- Start and End — the moments of your sale, for example 2026-11-27 00:00 and 2026-11-30 23:59. A date without time as the end means the end of that day. Leave both empty for a page that is always on.
- Text before the start — shown with the countdown to the start, for example "Our biggest sale of the year starts soon. Save the date!"
- Text during the event — shown above the deals, for example "Save up to {max_discount}, with the biggest discounts
at the top."
{max_discount}becomes the biggest discount on the page for that customer (for example 50%) and{end_date}the end date. - Text after the event — shown once the sale is over.
When a text uses {max_discount} or {end_date} and there is no value (no deals yet, no end date), the text is not
shown rather than showing a broken sentence. HTML tags are removed from all texts; line breaks are kept.
Deals page
- Page address — the end of the page address in each language, for example
black-friday: lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, starting with a letter. An address already used by another page of the shop is refused. The same page can be found in Shop Parameters → Traffic & SEO. - Page title (meta title) and Meta description — what the browser tab and search results show.
- Minimum discount — only products reduced by at least this percentage, for example 10. 0 lists every reduced product.
- Only these categories — tick categories to list only their products and those of their subcategories. Tick nothing for the whole catalog.
- Hide products that cannot be ordered — leaves out products that are not available for order and out of stock products that do not accept orders (on by default).
- Before the event, show — the banner only, or the banner and the current discounts.
- After the event, show — the banner only (with the text after the event), or the banner and the current discounts.
- Maximum number of products — from 20 to 1000 (300 by default); the biggest discounts are kept.
Customers choose how many products they see per page and the shop's own setting applies, as in categories.
Promotion in the shop
- Banner on the home page — the event name, the countdown, the home banner text and a button to the deals page.
On installation the banner is placed first on the home page; you can move it in Design → Positions
(hook
displayHome). - Show the banner and the link before the start — how many days before the start the home banner and the header link appear, for example 7. 0 shows them only from the start. Both disappear at the end of the event.
- Home banner text — shown during the event, for example "Up to {max_discount} off. All the deals on one page." Before the start the banner shows the text before the start.
- Button label — for example "See the deals". Required in the default language.
- Link in the header — the event name as a link to the deals page at the top of every page.
- Banner background colour and Banner text colour — hex colours such as
#111111and#ffffff. The page warns you when the two colours are hard to read together. - Accent colour — the colour of the countdown, the buttons and the header link, for example
#ff0069. Leave it empty to keep the colours of your theme. Button text is black or white, whichever reads better on the accent.
5. Multistore
Settings are saved for the shop or shop group selected in the Back Office header. Select All shops to use the same event everywhere, or a single shop to give it its own dates, texts, address and colours. The discounts are those of each shop, as set in PrestaShop. One licence covers every shop of the installation.
6. Uninstall
Module Manager → Black Friday Deals Page → Uninstall removes the module's settings and the deals page. Your discounts are not touched. To keep the settings for next year, use Disable instead.
7. FAQ and troubleshooting
The deals page is empty. Look at the Status box: it says how many products a customer who is not logged in sees. If there are none, check that your catalog price rule or specific price is active now (dates "From" and "To"), applies to all customers, countries and currencies (or to the ones you test with), starts from 1 unit, and that the product shows an old price crossed out. Then check the minimum discount and the chosen categories.
A product is reduced but not listed. It may be out of stock with orders refused (switch off Hide products that cannot be ordered to list it), its reduction may apply only to a combination other than the default one, or only from 2 units, or the product may be hidden from the catalog. A price set for one single customer is not listed either.
I changed a price but the page still shows the old one. The page keeps its list for up to 3 minutes. Wait a moment, or clear the cache in Advanced Parameters → Performance.
Customers see different products than I do. The page is built for each customer group, country and currency: a reduction for one of them is listed only for those customers. Log out to see the page as a new visitor.
The page shows the wrong state or time. Dates are read in the shop time zone from International → Localization. Check the time zone and the dates in the Event section.
Where do I find the address of the page for my newsletter? Click View the deals page in the Status box; the address stays the same for every sale.
Can I add the page to the main menu? Yes: in Modules → Module Manager → Main menu → Configure, add a custom link with the address of the deals page.
Can I change how the banner looks?
Yes. Use the colour settings, add CSS for the .ap-blackfriday classes to your theme, or copy the templates from
views/templates/ of the module to themes/<your-theme>/modules/ap_blackfriday/views/templates/ and edit the copies.
